GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS

  • Intending Exhibitors are particularly requested to peruse the rules carefully, and not to enter for exhibition unless they are prepared to comply with the Regulations.

ENTRY FORMS

  • The necessary printed Forms for the Entry of Stock, etc., will be supplied on application to The Secretary ,Limerick Show Society, Greenmount Park, Patrickswell, Co. Limerick. No entry will be accepted unless it is made on the regular printed Form. N.B. Applicants for Forms are particularly requested to state the number of forms they require, and in which Sections they desire to enter.

LODGING ENTRIES

  • All certificates of entry correctly completed and signed by the exhibitor or his agent must be lodged with the Secretary, Limerick Show Society, Greenmount Park, Patrickswell, Co. Limerick together with the amount of entry fees. All entry fees to be paid via the Plain Sailing facility. NO ENTRY WILL BE ACCEPTED UNLESS IT IS ACCOMPANIED BY THE FULL AMOUNT OF THE FEES.

ENTRY CLOSING DATES

  • The attention of Exhibitors is drawn to the closing dates for entries as listed above. No late entries can be accepted.
  • No animal or other exhibit shall be shown otherwise than in its proper Class in the Show. Any animal or exhibit entered in a wrong Class may be ejected from Competition.

EXHIBITS NOT SENT

  • No refund of entry fees will be made in the case of entries which are not sent forward for competition, or which are disqualified from competition for failure to comply with the regulations.

VERIFICATION OF STATEMENTS

  • Each exhibitor or agent must be prepared to verify every statement contained in the Certificate of Entry in any manner the Committee may require.

 

ALTERATIONS

  • No alteration can be made in an entry after it has been accepted save under very exceptional circumstances, and that the notice is received in time. A fee of €5 must accompany each and every such alteration, which will be refunded it the alteration cannot be affected.

CHANGE IN NAME OF ANIMALS

  • Where there has been a change of name of animal, exhibits are required to insert both the present name and the former name in the certificate of entry.

OWNERSHIP

  • All stock exhibited at the show, except where otherwise stated, must be, from the time of entry to the Show, the bona fide property of the Exhibitor in whose name it is entered.

RESPONSIBILITY

  • Neither the Society nor any of its Officers, Officials or Servants shall be in anyway responsible or accountable for anything that may happen from any cause or circumstance whatever to Exhibitors or their Servants or Visitors to Show, or to any exhibit or properly brought into the Show Grounds, or for anything else in connection with or arising out of or attributable to the Society’s Show. Each Exhibitor shall be solely responsible for any consequential or other Loss, Injury or Damage done or occasioned by, or arising from any Animal or Article exhibited by him and for its description as given in the Catalogue, and shall indemnity the Society against all legal or other proceedings in regard there to. The Society will endeavour to have the Catalogue as complete as possible and in accordance with the particulars given on the entry forms; it cannot, however, hold itself responsible for any additions, omissions, or mistakes which may occur for any reason, whatsoever, in the Catalogue. Exhibitors will be held responsible for the behaviour of their Servants, and for the consequences of any misconduct of each Servant.

ADJUDICATION

  • The decision of the Judges shall be final, except in cases of fraud, misrepresentation, substitution or other breach of the Rules, where the decision of the Management Committee will be final. No person whatever shall in any way communicate with the Judge engaged in an adjudication, and without the previous sanction of the Stewards in attendance. Any Exhibitor not leading an animal who enters the space in which an adjudication is proceeding may be disqualified from receiving a prize.

WITHHOLDING PRIZES

  • The Judges are instructed to withhold a Prize when sufficient merit does not appear. The acceptance of an entry fee by the Committee cannot be regarded as an admission that an Exhibit is eligible to compete or receive an award.

PROTESTS

  • Any Exhibitor wishing to lodge a protest having reference to an exhibit at this show must make it in writing and must deposit there with a sum of €50 which will be refunded if the protest is sustained or at the discretion of the Committee. All protests must be delivered at the Secretary’s office in the Show Grounds within one hour of the time the award in dispute was made and no protest will be subsequently received unless a satisfactory reason be assigned for the delay.

DECLARATION

  • Each Exhibitor to whom a prize is awarded must be prepared when required by the committee to makea statutory declaration that the conditions and regulations affecting such Prize have been complied with, or otherwise the Prize shall go to the next in order of merit.

POSTPONEMENT OF SHOW

  • The Society reserve the right to postpone the Show, or part thereof, definitely or indefinitely, without incurring any liability to any Exhibitor or other party.

GROOMS

  • Grooms only admitted free when in charge of their animals.

DELIVERY- REMOVAL

  • The Society shall not be in any way responsible for the delivery of any Exhibit at the Show, nor for the removal of any Exhibit at the close of the Show. Any Exhibit not collected by the 1st September 2023, will be donated to Charity.

REJECTION

  • The Committee reserves to itself the power for eject or remove any animal or other Exhibit from the Show without being in any way liable for compensation.

PENALTIES

  • In case it shall be proved to the satisfaction of the Committee that the Owner of an Exhibit, or a person in his employment, or under his control, has been guilty of any violation of the Rules or Regulations; has made a false statement in the certificate of entry or substituted another Exhibit: for that described in the certificate of entry; or has been guilty of any practice calculated to deceit or mislead, or to secure an unfair advantage, the Exhibitor will be liable to forfeit all prizes, cups medals, etc., awarded to him at this Show, together with all fees paid by him, and shall be liable to be prevented from competing at this or any future Show of the Society. If an animal is absent from a Parade, the Exhibitor will be liable to forfeit any Prize or Prizes which may have been awarded to him.

 

 

DISEASE

  • No animal suffering from skin or other disease may be admitted; and should any animal manifest symptoms of disease during the Show, it must be immediately removed.

POWER OF STEWARDS

  • The Committee shall be entitled to appoint as many Stewards as they may consider necessary to assist at the Show, and all such Stewards shall have full power to enforce all the Rules and Regulations. The Committee reserve the right to photograph any animal in the Show Premises.

INTERPRETATION OF CONDITIONS

  • Management Committee reserve to itself the sole and absolute right to interpret these or any other prescribed conditions and regulations or Prize Lists, and to arbitrarily settle and determine all or any matters, questions, or in differences in regard thereto, or otherwise arising out of or connected with or incidental to the Show. Also to refuse or to cancel any entries, disqualify

Exhibitors, prohibit exhibition of entries, vary or cancel awards of prizes or reserve numbers, amalgamate classes, and relax conditions as the Management Committee may deem expedient without giving any reason what so ever and the decision of the Management Committee shall be final in all aspects. Conditions of entry to this Show is that Exhibitors shall only be allowed to transact business and no person will be permitted to solicit money except he or she holds a licence from the Society to do so. Visitors or others infringing this rule shall be liable forthwith to be removed from the Show, and shall have no claim to a return of their admission money. All Exhibitors and persons admitted into the Show Yard shall be subject to the Rules, Orders and Regulations of the Society.

POWERS OF THE COMMITTEE

  • The Committee shall have the power to remove from the premises the Stock or Property belonging to an Exhibitor who shall infringe any of the Regulations or Conditions of the Show, or who shall refuse to comply with any instructions given by the Stewards, or Officials, and it, in the judgment of the Committee, the circumstances justify it, they shall have power to withhold any Prize awarded, and if, in their opinion, the Prize ought to be withheld, their determination shall be final and binding on the Exhibitor.

RESPONSIBILITY

  • Exhibitors alone are responsible for the feeding and watering of their animals until the close of the Show, whether sold or unsold.

PASTING OR FIXING Of NOTICES, NEWSPAPER BILLS ETC.

  • The pasting of notices on any part of the structures of buildings is prohibited and a fine of €125 per notice will be levied on each such irregularity. All charges and fines shall be recoverable as debts.

VETERINARY EXAMINATION

  • It is a condition of entry that any animal may at the request of the Judges be subjected to veterinary examination. The result of any Veterinary examinations conducted by the Show Committee shall be regarded as confidential except as otherwise provided. There shall be no appeal from the Official Veterinary Surgeon examination. Should two veterinary surgeons not be able to agree on any examination the Committee empower them to call in a third Veterinary surgeon to act as umpire.

INSURANCE

  • All Exhibitors must have Show Animals Insured and be prepared to produce evidence on the day.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 

CONDITIONS GOVERNING CUP COMPETITIONS

               30. Winners of Cups in 2025 must give an undertaking to the Committee that the Cups will be

returned to the Secretary at least 10 days prior to the date of the succeeding show and in the same        condition as   when issued

For Ponies, Mares, or geldings 4 years old and over, not exceeding 133 cms. For riders between 3 and 5 years of age on 1st January 2025.Ponies and riders registered with the I.P.S, are not eligible to compete in this class
